THE JAIPUR LITERATURE FESTIVAL (JANUARY)
The Jaipur Literature Festival has been hosted by Hotel Diggi Palace since its inception in 2006. It is an initiative of the Jaipur Virasat foundation founded in 2002 by Faith Singh and John Singh of "Anokhi" fame.
The Jaipur Literature Festival has grown from a modest beginning into one of Asia’s largest festivals so that in 2010, on only the fifth festival no less than 220 authors from 17 countries spoke to crowds approaching 30,000 people!
The former editor of the New Yorker, Tina Brown dubbed it "the greatest literary show on earth".

THE WONDERFUL WORKSHOPS (JANUARY)
The Wonderful Workshops Programme sponsors the cross-collaboration of traditional craftsmanship with international design expertise and encourages the conservation of Rajasthans’s unique cultural heritage. The workshops were created with the Jaipur Virasat Foundation to enable a wider community to share in the centuries-old specialist knowledge held by the master-craftsmen of this magical city.

THE COLOURFUL FESTIVAL OF HOLI (MARCH)
This colourful festival is celebrated with great gusto at the Diggi Palace. Falling during the spring equinox (March) the curtain is drawn on winter and the festival heralds the coming of spring. On the eve of this festival effigies of the demoness “Holika” are set aflame signifying the triumph of Good over Evil

They light a holy bonfire reflecting the significance of the festival. All hotel guests are invited to witness and be part of the ceremony. On the day of the festival powered colour is applied on one another and old grievances are forgotten & forgiven. If you do plan to visit Jaipur during the month of March please ask for the festival dates.
